Is it okay to do 16 hour fasts on days that you aren’t doing 24 hour fasts? I read in the book that the body needs a break from fasting so I was wondering if the added 16 hour fasts would be overdoing it.
So, you want to fast day by day? Not a good idea. Our bodies need balance between eating and fasting – this is the central point of Brad’s book.
You can try to do 16 hour fasts in between 24 hour fasts. Probably, you will lose weight faster than doing fasting for 24 hours once or twice a week, especially if you have a lot of body fat to lose. But when dieting too hard or the calories deficit is a little too low, or the fasting is too much or too long, or a combination of both – people face the trouble of stopping eating or uncontrolled eating, or sometimes called uninhibited eating.
My advice – you have to find a kind of sweet spot with experimenting.
