I want to lose weight and just wondering if anyone has tried garcinia cambogia extract, like “Garcinia Cambogia Plus” (it has a lot of positive reviews on amazon, but I’m still a bit sceptical about it ) and had any success with it?

I waited until I lost 60 lbs and simply followed the workout and less calories and then maintained for at least a year before experimenting with supplements. I didn’t even have a the calorie calculator, I just cut my portion sizes down to something that made the scale go down consistently and hit the gym as much as possible.

Supplements might make the process complicated for you right now.. why not start with a proven strategy and just eat at a calorie deficit that works for you and start on the workouts.. keep it simple for now.

Gloria is right about just getting your calories in order to lose weight. Most of those so called “appetite suppressants” like garcinia or hoodia or what ever else is being passed as magic these days are just snake oil. Save your money. Best cheap appetite suppressant is caffeine (tea, coffee) and lots of water. Stay busy and you will not have a chance to think about eating. Most “hunger” stems from boredom and habituation. Once you start to fill it with things that matter you stop thinking about eating.

Well, I can say that caffeine is my main appetite suppressant, and coffee has caffeine plus two other appetite suppressant ingredients (thus decaf contains the other two stimulants/appetite suppressants not caffeine). I just have to be careful not to drink too much overall in the day and stop during the afternoon or it effects my sleep.

Sleep is KEY for appetite suppressing. Lack of sleep means lack of focus, body too stressed for workout or calorie deficit among other things in your life, and uncontrollable hunger and illogical thinking.

Like alexa said keeping busy is also KEY. Keeping your mind on things that you need to get done, work, projects at home, whatever. The best thing to do after a meal is to tell yourself you can have more next time, drink water, and get busy somewhere besides the kitchen.

We all want to eat more almost all the time, and even after a meal and we have had enough. Best to walk away and to tell yourself you can have more next time. Nonre immune to wanting to eat more than we actually need, let alone wanting to eat more when on a deficit. It is mostly mindset, not supplements, although caffeine and the other ingredients in coffee are quite powerful.

I can only agree with what has already been said. There is no magic pill here. We all want to eat more but managing food calories is the only safe and sure fire way to create a deficit to lose weight. Having said that the best natural suppressant for me is black coffee. The caffeine probably helps a little but I think it just helps having something warm and tasty to sip at.

Thank you for the input! I have wasted a lot of money over the years to get no where. I will take your advice and work on my calorie count. My biggest problem is sugar. I think I am addicted to it. I compare it to drugs like crack and meth. Granted I have never tried crack or meth, it just feels like it has that much control over me. My husband seems to think I am exaggerating but I am having a hard time with getting away from it. I have tried quitting cold turkey, but have only lasted a max of three days then I binge on it and the guilt sets in. By the third day I am agitated and angry at the world. I am not a diabetic yet and that is one of my biggest fears because seems like everyone in my family over 40 is diabetic and overweight. I had read that the garcinia cambogia had helped some people reduce sugar and carb cravings so that’s one reason I was curious, as well as, helped them lose weight. I really need help with my sugar addiction.

I hear you on the money wasted on magic bullets. We’ve all been there. As for the sugar addiction that is not unusual and it is possible to break that cycle. Best way to do that is not to buy the stuff and go cold turkey. Sugar is a hot button for you. I had a terrible sweet tooth and I was able to control it by a combination of cold turkey with candy, desserts etc. I replaced it by eating fresh fruit. The difference is that fresh fruit is nowhere near as much sugar as any processed candy or dessert. More importantly the fiber and bulk of fruit is filling and satisfying compared to eating candy. Avoid juices and eat real fruit.

It is also OK to use artificial sweeteners instead of sugar. You won’t have anything dire happen drinking diet drinks or using nutrasweet or stevia. Forget all the negative stuff you’ve heard. It’s all scare tactics and total BS. If it helps you drink more coffee or tea then its all good. Eventually you can have that stuff around and not go to the dogs over it.

While Garcinia is pretty harmless, the “scientific studies” are weak & I admit to having tried a few years ago (before it was Dr.Oz popular – & now there’s a lot of fake supps or supps with lots of fillers so it’s even worse) & it was not significantly helpful.

Best/easiest time of longterm weight/shape management in my life has been through Venus Factor/Eat Stop Eat.
Lately adding in a little SLD (shangri-la diet) to try that (safe with healthy oil benefits. Well good luck!

I tried garcinia cambogia and gave it a good month with no results. (I eat healthy and exercise) It didn’t suppress my appetite, actually made me more hungry, no increase in energy, gave me headaches, and it gave me horrible stomach issues ( gas, bloating, loose stool). I can say I gave it a good honest try too, I didn’t just take it for a day or two. I know everyone is different but it didn’t do squat for me and made me feel like crap (literally lol). My husband took it for a few days and it tore his stomach up as well.

I have tried Garcinia Cambogia and had some success with it helping to increase my energy levels. My problem really is not my appetite or how much I eat, so I’m sort of backwards to many people who are trying to lose weight. I tend to be able to go really long periods of time in between eating so my metabolism tends to grind to a halt. Then when I do eat, I tend to go for fast, easy choices rather than ones that take some time for meal prep.

I realize that there are tons of products on the market that don’t do much of anything, and NO product is going to work the same for everybody, but with Garcinia Cambogia the thing is that most of the products don’t give you the maximum dose for efficiency. For top results you want something with at least a 65% HCA fat blocker in it, and also one that will give you 3000 mg per day of the Garcinia. The kind I have also help enhance mood and blocks fat from being formed, (they say particularly in the stomach region, though I’m not sure how it can ‘know’ where it’s working.) Also, many people will buy something, take it and not change anything else about how or what they eat and expect it to work, then are very quick to say it doesn’t work when they don’t lose 10 lbs in a week.

Hi i used it for about 2 Month it seemed to help me loose a little bit on my Stomach area and it for sure helped curb my appetite. But already lost about 35 lbs before i started using the garcinia and its really hard for me now to loose my last 10 lbs. My Husband started using it also and he looses weight fast with the garcinia and the raspberry keton he lost in his first week 10 lbs and in his second week 5 lbs. He didn’t exercise at all. He has a desk job and works all day and at night he even drinks a glass of wine. Also don’t order the garcinia over a link from Dr oz as he says in his Show he is not selling it and ppl who put his name on it are most likely a fraud. I ordered it off amazon. After one week of using it i even received a phone call and a representative send me a free bottle just for a review. Hope this helps

Same, I tried it over the past few months and have unfortunately wasted money as well. The only thing I have ordered so far is the lepti-burn. But after reading a bit more today, it seems that not many say it isn’t really necessary. You just get bombarded with so many emails on the first few days before you even get to read everything, it is very over whelming.

I tried it last year before my wedding after my mother-in-law lost 7 lbs. Taking it, and I lost NOTHING after taking two bottles of it! I wouldn’t recommend wasting your money. (My mother-in-law gained the weight back quickly and tried Weight Watchers. She lost a little before the wedding but has gained it back.)

I also tried it for 4 months with no noticeable changes to my weight, appetite or energy levels. Waste of money. Did order the colon cleanse they offered with it and will continue to take it. It is called Cleanse Catalyst Plus. I take Victoza and it constipates me and when I eat healthy it is that much worse. This cleanse works the best to keep my pipes working.

What works absolutely best and perfectly every time is a calorie deficit, workouts that build a beautiful body but are not to stressful like endless cardio, and learning the lifestyle.

This is where we learn to manage it in a healthy manner for life. All of us have learned how to diet, and all of us have learned how to eat too much, but we have a hard time learning the middle ground. It is swimming up stream against society and social pressure to constantly eat high calorie foods. So we all have to learn to manage it like a budget. Once the debt is paid off then we simply learn to have a one or two deficit days to offset the higher eating days, and balance it like a checkbook for the week or whatever.

It takes a bit of effort to get used to, and then it just becomes second nature. But just like kids who get money from their parents when they are young and don’t have to worry about where it comes from or how much is in the checkbook, we all have to grow up and become responsible with food intake. If not, we spend calories like it’s a credit card with no limit and then we get into fat debt again.

Funny how C. Garcinia seems to work for some people and not others… I admit I was also a victim of marketing and tried it last year. Nothing. I stopped and tried again later. Still nothing. I’m pretty confident Eat Stop Eat program is going to work, though, without the supplements. I love the pictures here. Visual evidence that it has worked for other again and again, and although I’m only 3 weeks in, I’ve lost an inch on my waist. Burn more calories than I take in, hmmmm. Who would’ve thunk it! I’m really stoked and committed. I think the mind is the biggest asset or hindrance to losing weight!

Garcinia cambogia contains HCA which has been a successful weight loss ingredient for years.

Only works if you supplement it with exercise though. Hard to find a supplement that magically drops fat overnight without putting in a little work.
